Biography: Banking
Born in Cremona (Italy) on 7 August 1949, Giuseppe Lombardi graduated with a degree (cum laude) in Philosophy in 1972 followed by a law degree (cum laude) in 1974. His professional career began in January 1975 with his mentor, Professor Piero Schlesinger, with whom he founded the law firm Schlesinger Lombardi in 1988. In 1996, he established the law firm Lombardi e Associati; in 2001, along with the law firm Pedersoli, he founded Pedersoli Lombardi e Associati. Subsequently, in 2004, he founded the law firm Lombardi Molinari e Associati.He has extensive experience in litigation and arbitration (with specific reference to the corporate, banking and insolvency areas); his professional expertise expanded also to non-contentious matters, focusing on M&A and corporate finance, as well as debt restructuring and corporate reorganisation, especially for cases involving generational changeovers.
Co-founder of the law review Corriere Giuridico and member of its editorial committee, he has also written numerous articles on corporate and banking law.
He is also a member of the Association Européenne pour le Droit Bancaire et Financier (AEDBF).
