Biography: Regulatory Communications

Bertram Burtscher is a partner in Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and works in the Vienna office. He specialises in telecoms, media, outsourcing, intellectual property and information technology law. He advises leading telecoms, media and information technology companies on regulatory matters as well as complex IT projects and respective corporate transactions.

Bertram studied law and science at the University of Innsbruck, Austria. He holds a Doctor of Laws degree (Dr iur) and a Masters in theoretical chemistry from the University of Innsbruck. Bertram was an expert adviser to the United Nations Special Commission (UNSCOM) in Iraq and he attended a scholarship programme at the University of Innsbruck at St Mary's Law School in San Antonio, Texas. Bertram was admitted to the Austrian Bar in 2004. He also teaches IT law in a postgraduate programme at the University of Vienna.

Bertram joined Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in 2000 and has worked in the firm's London and Hong Kong offices.
