Biography: Business Crime Defence

Aldo Verbruggen is a partner at Wladimiroff Advocaten NV, a boutique firm dedicated to defence in white-collar crime and administrative penal sanctions. The firm's lawyers deal with the full range of authorities prosecuting for offences in these fields on the national or international level. The expertise on the subjects of fraud, financial, economic and environmental crime, and penal tax litigation is unique for the Netherlands.

A law graduate of Utrecht University, Aldo completed the six-year post-doctoral governmental traineeship for the judiciary. In 1994 he was appointed public prosecutor, working in various offices of the Prosecution Service making financial and economic cases his particular area of expertise. He was involved in establishing the National Prosecutorial Expertise Centre for Fraud. Following a professional training in public management, he held various managerial positions within the Prosecution Service.

In 2005 Aldo Verbruggen joined Wladimiroff Advocaten. He is currently one of the firm's managing partners. Aldo has a wealth of experience in handling cases of a financial, economic, tax or environmental nature, including corruption and money laundering. In the field of compliance forensic investigation he combines a unique combination of education and experience.
