His competition law experience covers all aspects including civil and criminal litigation, class actions, investigations, compliance and strategic opinions, and merger review. He regularly advises on competition law matters related to the pharmaceutical industry and has conducted both civil and criminal litigation cases related to pharmaceutical matters. He has also handled several class action lawsuits on a national scale in Canada for both competition and product liability claims.
William has appeared as an advocate in all levels of court in Ontario, as well as in other provinces in Canada, and has also appeared in the Federal Court, the Federal Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Prior to joining the firm as a partner in 1989, William spent four years as an assistant professor of law at the University of Windsor's faculty of law. William was a sessional lecturer on competition law at Queen's University and has written and spoken on competition law subjects. He has also co-authored the leading loose-leaf service entitled Competition Law Service as well as book chapters on competition law.
