Giovanni Galimberti is a partner in the Milan office since 2005, co-heads the Italian intellectual property department and has over 14 years experience in the field of IP.Giovanni has been with Bird & Bird since the opening of the Milan office – which he helped to launch – and specialises in all types of IP with a special focus on national and international patents, copyright and trade mark litigation.
Giovanni is particularly specialised in the life science sector, assisting many international pharma players in their patent litigation and transactional strategies. In the past few years Giovanni has coordinated some of the most important pharma patent litigation and recently obtained landmark decisions from the Italian courts. He operates in close contact with multinational companies to assist in the launch of new products, to prevent infringements of their patents and to prevent illegal parallel importations. He has also extensively worked with international life sciences clients in the management and enforcement of their high-profile IP portfolio and brands throughout Europe.
Giovanni has authored publications in the field of patent and trademark law for both Italian and European legal magazines.
