Alison specialises in the conduct and supervision of multijurisdictional IP and patent litigation in Asia and has worked extensively in the life sciences sector. She has undertaken a number of high-profile patent and copyright actions in Hong Kong, China and south-east Asia for pharmaceutical companies.Her non-contentious practice covers the development and implementation of IP protection strategies, regulatory advice, IP audits and clearances, and domain name disputes in China and Asia.
Alison has been ranked as a leading IP lawyer in industry directories/publications including The International Who's Who of Life Sciences Lawyers 2010, the Asia Pacific Legal 500 2010-11 edition, and Chambers Asia 2010, where she is recognised as "a stout and incisive litigator" notably in patent litigation.
Alison is a regular speaker at international conferences and was involved in lobbying the HKSAR government and the HKSAR legislative council on copyright law reform. She is a member of APAA, INTA and HKTMP. She qualified in Hong Kong in 1996 and in England and Wales in 1997 and became a partner of Bird & Bird in 2004.
