Biography: Insolvency & Restructuring

Kehinde A L George is a partner and head of insolvency at Attride-Stirling & Woloniecki. She moved to Bermuda in 1995 having previously practised as a corporate/commercial lawyer for three years respectively at Turner Kenneth Brown and Stephenson Harwood in London; and for four years at the UK Department of Trade & Industry advising on insolvency law and policy.

In Bermuda, Kehinde has acted for liquidators, provisional liquidators and/or creditors in numerous local and cross-border insolvencies and restructurings, including Northern Offshore Ltd, BluePoint Re Ltd, Lehman Re Ltd, New Stream Capital Fund Ltd and Parkcentral Global Hub Ltd.

Kehinde received her LLB degree with honours from King's College, University of London, in 1982 and completed her UK Solicitors Finals at the College of Law in 1983. She was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales in 1985 and called to the Bar of Bermuda in 1996. She is a member of the Bermuda Bar Association, International Association of Insurance Receivers and INSOL.

Kehinde's publications include The Restructuring Review third edition - Bermuda chapter; Americas Restructuring and Insolvency Guide 2008 – Bermuda chapter; 'Bermuda is a Familiar World' – The Insurance Receiver 2006; 'Cross-border restructurings involving parallel proceedings in Bermuda and the US' - Euromoney Global Insolvency & Restructuring Yearbook 2004/05; She also authored the Bermuda chapter for the annual handbook published by Law Business Research, Getting the Deal Through - Insolvency & Restructuring from 2001 through to 2004 and co-wrote the Bermuda chapter in the IFLR In-House Counsel's Guide to Insurance and Reinsurance 2003.
