Biography: Aviation

Maurizio is the partner in charge of Rossotto & Partners Rome office and heads the aviation law department.

His particular expertise covers contracts and litigation in the aviation sector as well as all the relationships with the Italian Civil Aviation Authorities. He has wide experience in advising and acting on airline companies' behalf on any kind of issues concerning ground handling, travel agents, airport tariffs, advertising and promotions, frequent flyer programmes, code sharing and denied boarding compensation rules. He regularly advises on aircraft sale and leasing matters as well as on environmental issues.

Maurizio also works on behalf of insurance companies working in the aviation sector with specific regard to aeronautical accidents and incidents.

Maurizio graduated magna cum laude from the University of Rome "La Sapienza" in Aviation Law. He is admitted to the Italian Bar Association and to practise before the Supreme Courts. He is a member of ISDIT- Institution for the Study of Transport Law.

Maurizio frequently lectures and writes on civil aviation law matters. He is the author of "Short Notes on the Juridical Nature of the AAAVIAG and on the Working Environment of Air Traffic Controllers" (ISDIT, 1994); "Limits on Strike Rights of Air Traffic Controllers and the Risk of Writ of Execution" (ISDIT, 1994); "Commentary on the Italian Civil Code: Articles on Transport Contract" (UTET, 2002); "Contract Between the Air Carrier and the Airport Handling Agent" (UTET, 2004); "Contract for Transportation Services" (UTET, 2004). He also contributes as a speaker at many conferences on air transport law.
