Marc Schildkraut practises antitrust law, focusing on mergers, civil investigations and antitrust litigation. In the merger area, he has obtained agency clearance in every case in which he was lead attorney, including the Boeing/McDonnell Douglas merger, the BP/Amoco merger, the Texaco/Chevron merger, the Exxon/Mobil merger, the PepsiCo/Quaker merger, the Albertson's/American Stores merger, Intel's acquisition of Chips and Technologies, Comcast's acquisition of AT&T's cable operations, Sunoco acquisitions of Chevron's and El Paso's Philadelphia-area refineries, Frito Lay's acquisition of Eagle Snacks food manufacturing assets and Royal Dutch Shell's acquisition of Montedison.
Recognising his achievements in the merger area, he was named the "Attorney to Call for Help with the M&A Deal of your Life" by Washington Business Forward. This recognition was prescient as since then, Mr Schildkraut has been able to prevent two Federal Trade Commission attempts to enjoin proposed acquisitions. Despite FTC challenges to acquisitions by both Aloha Petroleum and Western Refining, both clients were able to consummate their transactions. Additional achievements in litigation, include Intergraph v Intel, In the matter of Schering Plough and The Bon-Ton v The May Department Stores Company.
Before entering private practice, Mr Schildkraut served at the Federal Trade Commission for 17 years in various positions, including assistant director for the Bureau of Competition.
