Biography: Commercial Arbitration

Mr Graham heads Chadbourne's dispute resolution practice in Mexico with a significant practice in other Latin American jurisdictions.

He has experience in complex civil and commercial litigation, international and domestic arbitration, insurance and reinsurance and bankruptcy. He counsels clients on FCPA regulation.

In arbitration, he has experience before the ICC, ICDR/AAA, LCIA and NAFTA/ICSID, among others.

His professional memberships include being president of the Mexican Bar Association (BMA), member of the ICC Latin American Group of Arbitration, adviser on International Private Law to the Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs; president of the Mexican Section of the Spanish Arbitration Club; and chairman of the Commercial Law Commission (BMA; 1998-2001).

Mr Graham received a PhD from Universidad Panamericana, a Masters from American University (Washington, DC), and his law degree from UNAM.

Mr Graham has represented a Mexican energy provider in one of the largest construction arbitrations currently active in Latin America, a US-based hotel developer in a large title insurance litigation case in Mexico, various US based creditors in Concurso Mercantil (bankruptcy) proceeding in Mexico, a US multinational in a FCPA internal investigation. He obtained a substantial award for a Mexican radio entity in a breach of contract case, involving two of the major players in the radio industry (Infored and Radio Centro). He has also represented a leading US corporation in an international arbitration in the fast food franchise industry.
