Biography: Mining

Gordon is a partner in the corporate and commercial group and the head of the corporate finance and securities group with Lawson Lundell LLP. He advises on all aspects of securities law, including public and private offerings of securities, mergers and acquisitions, takeover bids and going private transactions, proxy contests and acts as counsel to special committees of boards of directors.

While Gordon acts for a wide range of clients in diverse industries, he has a particular focus on corporate finance for mining companies. He is a member of the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada.

Gordon is recognised in the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory as one of the 'leading practitioners' in the areas of corporate and commercial law, corporate finance and securities, and mergers and acquisitions in western Canada. He is recognised in the Woodward/White Best Lawyers in Canada for corporate law (finance) and securities law. He has also served on the securities legal advisory committee of the British Columbia Securities Commission and on the former Vancouver Stock Exchange securities advisory committee.

Gordon attended the University of Calgary (BComm in 1983) and the University of Toronto (LLB in 1986), and was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1987.
