Biography: Oil and Gas
Jaime Herrera is a founding partner of Posse, Herrera & Ruiz. He heads the mergers and acquisitions and corporate law practice groups of the firm and co-heads the natural resources and energy practice group. His practice focuses on M&As, infrastructure, natural resources and energy law (oil and gas, electricity and biofuels).Jaime advises clients on corporate expansion, investment strategies, complex local and international financings, and M&A in various sectors of the economy. His recent transactions include the US$3 billion upgrading of the Cartagena Refinery Facility for Ecopetrol; Copec's acquisition of a controlling stake in Organización Terpel; TermoEmcali's project development; TermoRubiales energy project structuring; the sale of Bioenergy SA to Ecopetrol; and international financing of the US$1.5 billion acquisition of Ecogas, Colombia's largest natural gas transportation company, by Empresa de Energía de Bogotá.
He is bilingual in Spanish and English.
