Andrew Marovitz is a partner and a firm practice leader of Mayer Brown's global litigation practice. He concentrates in the areas of antitrust litigation and complex commercial litigation. He has represented national and multinational corporations in monopolisation, attempted monopolisation, price fixing, market allocation and conspiracy cases, and has counselled clients in civil and criminal antitrust proceedings. Mr Marovitz was involved in the successful representation of Brunswick Corporation in Concord v Brunswick, in which the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit ordered the District Court to enter judgment on behalf of Brunswick in this US$142 million monopolisation and market foreclosure case. He also represented BASF Corporation in In re Vitamin Antitrust Litigation, one of the largest price fixing cases ever filed. In addition to his civil practice, Mr Marovitz has handled a number of criminal price fixing matters pursued by various DoJ field offices. He is listed in the Best Lawyers in America and in Who's Who Legal as an "extremely well known" attorney who devotes substantial time to high-profile cartel litigation. He also has been called "an excellent litigator who routinely delivers outstanding results". An earlier edition of Global Competition Review identified him as a young antitrust lawyer to watch.
His publications include: "Empagran and the Globalization of the Sherman Act", Business Law Int'l 197 (September 2003); "Snapshots After Kodak, Of Interest" (March 1993) (co-authored with Mark McLaughlin), "Casting a Meaningful Ballot", 98 Yale LJ 1193 (1989).
He has been a lawyer with Mayer Brown LLP since 1990.
Mr Marovitz received his JD from Yale Law School in 1989, and received a BA from Amherst College in 1986.
