John Turner is a partner of Fasken Martineau and leader of its global mining group. Fasken Martineau is Canada's leading law firm for mining expertise according to this publication and five of its partners are listed here as experts in mining law. It is the only law firm globally with leading mining practitioners located in each of the key mining finance centres of Toronto, Vancouver, Quebec, London, Johannesburg and New York.
John has been primarily involved in negotiating international mergers and acquisitions and cross-border public offerings in the mining sector. One of Canada's leading newspapers, the Financial Post, described John as "one of the best dirt lawyers in Canada, if not the world."
