Yew Woon Chooi is a partner in Rodyk & Davidson LLP's intellectual property and technology practice group.

Woon Chooi advises on a broad range of commercial contracts, with particular focus on transactions that involve IP issues and cross-border transactions, such as joint ventures, franchising, licensing, transfer of technology, exploitation and protection of intellectual property, comparative advertising, information technology, contracts for telecommunications services and e-commerce business. She has worked on local and worldwide registration of intellectual property (trademarks, designs, patents), infringement and counterfeiting, software and hardware contracts, software development agreements, turn-key contracts, network agreements, service level agreements, data centre agreements. Woon Chooi also advises on comprehensive programmes for intellectual property protection and management in corporations.

Woon Chooi's practice also involves cross-border IP transactions, in particular involving China, Vietnam, Malaysia and the Philippines.

Woon Chooi helped to establish, and is currently the honorary legal adviser for, the Franchising and Licensing Association, Singapore. She is also the Honorary Secretary to the Asian Patent Attorneys' Association (Singapore Group), and a member of the Licensing Executives Society and of the classification committee of the International Trade Marks Association (INTA).

Woon Chooi has given numerous talks, and published numerous articles relating to intellectual property. She is named in the International Who's Who of Trademark Lawyers and is recognised as a leading IP practitioner by Asia Law & Practice, a Euromoney company.

Woon Chooi graduated with an LLB (Hons) from the National University of Singapore.
