David Oelman is a partner in the corporate section at Vinson & Elkins. Mr Oelman focuses his practice primarily on corporate and securities transactions for public companies, private companies and investment banking firms. His representation includes: advising boards on corporate governance matters; public offerings and private placements of equity and debt; publicly traded limited partnerships; mergers, acquisitions and dispositions; venture capital and private equity investments; and redemptions and exchanges of preferred equity and debt. Mr Oelman has particular experience in the energy, life sciences, medical, power and construction industries.

Mr Oelman has been recognised by Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers in corporate and M&A law, 2005-2008; The Best Lawyers in America in corporate law, 2006 and 2008, and in mergers and acquisitions law, 2008; and in Texas Monthly as a "Texas Super Lawyer" in securities and corporate finance, 2005-2007.

Mr Oelman graduated from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, BA, summa cum laude, in 1987; and the University of Texas, JD, with honours, in 1990.
