Jerry Beane focuses on antitrust and commercial litigation. His experience includes: antitrust representation in mergers in the energy, food, health care, transportation, manufacturing and telecommunications industries; defence of federal and state antitrust and other governmental investigations in the banking, construction, energy, explosives, food, health care, home furnishings, insurance, logistics and transportation industries; defense of patent, trademark, securities, contract and breach of fiduciary duty litigation; antitrust counselling on distribution, HSR, joint venture, pricing, price-determination, trade association and compliance programme issues; representation of liability insurers in coverage, bad faith, Insurance Code violations, claims handling and failure to settle lawsuits; and defense of claims, including environmental and other coverage issues under CGL policies, uninsured motorist coverage, reinsurance agreement disputes, specialty coverage issues such as catastrophe injury policy, and sporting and entertainment event coverage.

Mr Beane's professional memberships include the State Bar of Texas; American Bar Association; Fellow, American College of Trial Lawyers; member, American Board of Trial Advocates; president, Baylor Law Review Ex-Editors Association; chairman, client's security fund committee of the State Bar of Texas; chairman, antitrust section of the Dallas Bar Association, 1998; adjunct professor, antitrust, Southern Methodist University School of Law, 1989-present.

He has been recognised in Who's Who in American Law; 'Best Lawyers in Dallas', D Magazine, May 2001, 2003 and 2007; and 'Top-100 Texas Super Lawyers', Texas Monthly, November 2003.

Mr Beane was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in 1967 and has been a partner with Andrews Kurth since 2003. He received his JD in 1967 from Baylor University Law School, where he was president of the Phi Delta Legal Fraternity and editor-in-chief of the Baylor Law Review.
