Biography: Mergers and Acquisitions

Alan J Bogdanow is a partner at Vinson & Elkins. He has built a practice focused on areas of mergers and acquisitions, public and private financings, and corporate control and governance matters. He has represented acquirers, sellers, special committees, and investment bankers in a broad range of merger and acquisition transactions.

Mr Bogdanow has extensive experience representing issuers and underwriters in both public and private financings, including initial public and secondary common stock offerings, preferred stock offerings, limited partnership offerings, convertible and other debt offerings, and Rule 144A offerings. Mr Bogdanow has represented issuers or underwriters in public and private offerings in the energy, retail, computer, transportation, manufacturing, investment management, real estate, insurance, biotechnology, and leisure industries. He has also represented venture capital firms and issuers in venture capital financings.

His extensive experience has earned Mr Bogdanow recognition year-on-year by Chambers USA as one of its leading lawyers in corporate and M&A law (since 2003); and by The Best Lawyers in America as a leader in corporate law (since 2003) and in M&A law (in 2007 and 2008).

Mr Bogdanow obtained his AB from Brown University in 1968, cum laude; and his JD from Columbia University in 1971.
