Biography: Mergers and Acquisitions

Scott Wulfe is a partner in the corporate section at Vinson & Elkins. He has applied his more than 20 years of legal experience to helping clients address complex corporate and securities issues. Throughout his career, Mr Wulfe has provided legal advice and counsel in numerous public and private mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, and equity and debt offerings. He has assisted clients in a broad range of industries, including energy, energy service, financial services, airlines and manufacturing. Mr Wulfe is a member of the firm's management committee.

For more than a decade, Mr Wulfe has been recognised as a leader in corporate, M&A, and securities law by The Best Lawyers in America. In addition, he has been recognised by Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers in corporate and M&A law, 2003 to 2007; and by Texas Monthly as a 'Texas Super Lawyer' in mergers and acquisitions, 2004 to 2005.

Mr Wulfe is co-head of the firm's private equity practice group and has represented for many years some of the United States' premier private equity firms in their investments, acquisitions and dispositions, and has represented their portfolio companies in connection with their initial public offerings. Mr Wulfe has also represented numerous public companies in connection with multi-billion dollar business combinations and divestitures.

Mr Wulfe graduated from the University of Texas, BA, Accounting and Finance with highest honours, in 1979 (Plan II; Phi Beta Kappa; Beta Alpha Psi; Phi Eta Sigma) and JD with high honours in 1983 (vice-chancellor of chancellors, John L and Ann Crawford endowment presidential scholarship).
