Biography: Insurance & Reinsurance

Kenneth Scott Statham's trial practice is focused on insurance law, personal injury and product liability, toxic tort and alternative dispute resolution. He represents policyholders in claims and disputes under first-party property and business interruption and third-party liability policies. Mr Staham also has an active insurance counseling practice, and advises clients on a variety of insurance matters, including duty to defend, duty to pay, reservations, adjustment and handling of claims and the placement, terms, and renewal of insurance.

The remainder of his practice is comprised of personal injury and product liability matters, and he has handled mass-torts involving prescription drugs, radial tyres, and hydrocarbon exposure. Having completed his mediation training in March 2001 with Sid Stahl and John Estes (Learn from the Masters), Mr Staham has negotiated the settlement of thousands of pharmaceutical product liability and hydrocarbon-exposure personal injury cases.

In recognition of his work on behalf of clients, Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers named Mr Statham as a leader in insurance law, 2006. He received his BBA from the University of Texas in 1984, and his JD, with highest honours, from the University of Houston School of Law in 1987.
