Biography: Corporate Tax

Price Manford is a partner in the firm's Houston office. His principal area of practice is federal income taxation. He has a broad-based energy tax practice encompassing business transactions and tax controversy matters before the Internal Revenue Service. He has significant experience in all tax aspects of the firm's energy practice.

Mr Manford has spent a significant amount of time on various financing arrangements for energy companies, including publicly traded limited partnerships and production payments. He has also advised US companies as well as international financial institutions with regard to various renewable energy projects involving synthetic fuel, wind, biofuels, biomass and other renewable energy sources.

He has advised clients with respect to the acquisition and disposition of domestic and foreign mineral and other real properties; natural resource-sharing arrangements; the creation, operation, reorganisation and liquidation of private and public partnerships and corporations in the natural resources industry; the creation and operation of private and publicly traded royalty trusts; investments by tax-exempt organisations; and many other types of transactions.

Mr Manford's tax controversy practice encompasses audit, administrative appeals, and various matters before the Treasury Department and the National Office of the Internal Revenue Service.

Mr Manford has been recognised by The Best Lawyers in America in tax law, 2005-2007, and Who's Who Legal: USA in corporate tax law, 2006.

Mr Manford received his BA (with honours) in 1973 and JD (with honours) in 1976 from the University of Texas.
