Biography: Mergers and Acquisitions

Teri McMahon is a partner in Alston & Bird's corporate transactions and securities group, and the co-chair of both the firm's mergers and acquisitions practice quality team and the private equity practice. Ms McMahon's practice emphasises mergers and acquisitions, private equity representation, corporate finance, leveraged buyouts and general corporate law.

Ms McMahon has had extensive experience in acquisitions, divestitures, public and private company mergers and the general corporate management of businesses, including those involving portfolio companies controlled by one of the largest private investment funds in the south-east of the United States, CGW Southeast Partners. She has negotiated and drafted purchase and sale agreements, shareholders' and employment agreements and other documents typical in management-led buyouts, in addition to representing both large public corporations and small family-owned businesses in complex acquisitions and sales.

She currently serves on the board of the business and finance section of the Atlanta Bar Association and is active in a number of non-profit organisations, presently serving on the board of directors of the Center for the Visually Impaired.

Ms McMahon received her JD in 1987 from the University of Michigan Law School and her undergraduate degree in 1984 from Duke University, where she majored in Economics and Public Policy Studies.
