Biography: Management Labour and Employment

Nina G Stillman is a partner in Morgan Lewis's labour and employment practice. Ms Stillman focuses on labour and employment, equal employment opportunity, and occupational safety and health law matters. She has successfully represented corporations and institutions in large employment class actions and individual employment, restrictive covenants, and health and safety-related cases. She is frequently called upon by employers to provide counsel and advice on a wide variety of employment issues such as reductions in force and workforce testing and to perform investigations of claims of employee and corporate wrongdoing.

Ms Stillman is considered one of the leading practitioners in the occupational safety and health law field, representing employers throughout the United States with respect to federal and state plan matters. She represents clients in the manufacturing, service, health care, petrochemical, construction and pharmaceutical industries. Ms Stillman's practice also involves extensive work in the overlap between employment and occupational health and safety issues, including pregnancy, reproductive hazards and physical testing cases.

In addition to standard setting, citation defence and related litigation activities, Ms Stillman also engages in a significant amount of safety and health consulting and litigation avoidance work. In this regard, she performs programmes compliance auditing for clients, and has designed audit programmes for other clients that were then performed by outside safety engineer, occupational medicine and industrial hygiene consultants.

Ms Stillman has written numerous articles and is a frequent lecturer on labour, employment, and workplace health and safety law issues. She is the past chair of the Chicago Bar Association, labour and employment law committee. She is listed in The Best Lawyers in America and in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business.
