Philip A Miscimarra is a partner in Morgan Lewis's labour and employment law practice in Chicago, with a focus on employment and labour law issues associated with complex business restructuring, traditional labour matters, and employment litigation. He co-chairs Morgan Lewis's Workforce Change, devoted to labour, employment and benefits issues arising from corporate reorganisations, mergers, acquisitions, start ups, spin offs, workforce reductions, and other business restructuring situations.
Mr Miscimarra is a senior fellow at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton Business School. He is managing director of the Wharton Research Advisory Group sponsored by the Center for Human Resources and also serves as employment law adviser to the Wharton Financial Services Group.
Mr Miscimarra's books include The NLRB and Managerial Discretion: Plant Closings, Relocations, Subcontracting, and Automation (The Wharton School), cited by the National Labor Relations Board for its "comprehensive review of prior decisions in this area, including cogent criticism of inconsistency and ambiguities" (Milwaukee Spring Division of Illinois Coil Spring Co, 268 NLRB 601, 603 n. 12); Government Protection of Employees Involved in Mergers and Acquisitions, by Northrup and Miscimarra (The Wharton School and George Mason University); The NLRB and Secondary Boycotts, by Miscimarra, Berkowitz, Wiener, and Ditelberg (3d ed. George Mason University); and numerous other publications.
Mr Miscimarra received his JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School; his MBA from The Wharton School; and his BA summa cum laude from Duquesne University.
