Gail Goering's practice is primarily devoted to advising clients in reinsurance disputes, both in the US and abroad. These matters have involved issues arising from both life and health, and property and casualty reinsurance contracts. Gail regularly assists clients in developing traditional reinsurance products and in creating unique risk transfer structures. She has also worked extensively with several insurer and reinsurer clients to develop actuarial models for analysing and estimating claims exposures.

Gail has particular experience with respect to issues arising out of the insolvencies of life and health, and property and casualty insurance companies. She has been a leading member of Lovells' teams involved in advising and litigating complex issues arising in international insurer insolvencies. She also has advised clients and litigated disputes involving issues such as the scope of the right of offset, the recoverability of estimated claims, the priority afforded to particular types of creditor claims and the scope of the right to arbitration in insolvency proceedings.

Gail graduated, summa cum laude, from Bethel College. She received her law degree from the University of Chicago.
