Mr Boling concentrates his practice on international employment law. Mr Boling represents employers and management in a variety of cross-border employment and labour matters. Likewise, he represents employers in enforcing confidentiality agreements and covenants not to compete in the cross-border context, in conducting internal investigations, in implementing global work force reductions and collective redundancies, in preparing cross-border employment and assignment agreements, in preparing and implementing global codes of conduct, in preparing and implementing corporate social responsibility initiatives, and in resolving conflict of laws issues. In addition, Mr Boling counsels employers on global employment aspects of data privacy compliance.
Mr Boling also counsels and represents employers and management in all types of US employment and labour matters. He has represented employers throughout the US in litigation involving state and federal employment discrimination laws, wrongful discharge, individual employment contracts, employee disloyalty, compensation and commission disputes, and work-related tort claims.
Mr Boling has written and lectured extensively on employment law issues, and most recently on the extraterritorial application of US employment laws, data protection laws and employee privacy, cross-border employment agreements, and corporate social responsibility. In 2007 Mr Boling co-authored (with Brian Arbetter) a two-volume book on Illinois human resources law published by American Chamber of Commerce Resources.
Mr Boling is a phi beta kappa graduate of Augustana College and graduated from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1984.
