Biography: Competition
Jack R Bierig, a partner, has had extensive experience in litigation challenging government action affecting healthcare providers, copyright and trademark cases, and FDA matters. He has represented numerous associations and healthcare providers in government antitrust and health fraud investigations, in actions brought by the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission, and in private antitrust cases. He also counsels clients on a wide variety of antitrust, association law, and regulatory issues. Mr Bierig's principal clients include the American Medical Association, College of American Pathologists, Commission on Office Laboratory Accreditation, several certifying Boards, the American Academy of Periodontology, the National Association of Realtorsᅡᆴ, American Dental Association, Independent Cosmetics Manufacturers and Distributors, and National Commission on Clinical Laboratory Standards. Mr Bierig is a past president of the Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys and past chair of the Legal Section of the American Society of Association Executives. He is a lecturer in Law at the University of Chicago Law School. He has written numerous articles for various publications, including

Loyola Law Journal, and the
St Louis University Law Journal. He contributed the chapter 'Antitrust for Physicians' to the
Physician's Survival Guide, jointly published by the American Medical Association and the National Health Lawyers Association. Mr Bierig lectures widely on antitrust, association law, and healthcare regulatory topics.
