In addition to his transactional work, Paul advises clients on a broad range of corporate governance and general securities law matters, including Sarbanes-Oxley, board of director, fiduciary duty, audit committee, PCAOB, disclosure policy and related issues. He has spoken at numerous seminars on topics relating to directors' duties, audit committee best practices, auditor matters and Sarbanes-Oxley issues.
He is included in the corporate/M&A section of The World's Leading Lawyers for Business published by Chambers Global. He is also a recommended lawyer for mergers and acquisitions work by Global Counsel 3000 and is a member of the Leading Lawyers Network for corporate and M&A matters. Paul has previously been named by Crain's Chicago Business in its annual 'Forty under 40' list of leading Chicago area business executives and professionals.
He earned his AB degree in Economics, magna cum laude, from Harvard College and his law degree, magna cum laude, from Harvard Law School. He also served as an editor of the Harvard Law Review and was awarded the Sears Prize.
Following Harvard Law School, Paul served as a law clerk to the Honorable Laurence H Silberman on the United States Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit.
