Biography: Corporate Tax

Jay H Zimbler is a partner in Sidley's Chicago office. He focuses on federal income tax matters with an emphasis on contested matters, Subchapter C and the taxation of foreign related transactions. Mr Zimbler has handled complex IRS appeals cases for a variety of multinational corporations nationwide. He has been a speaker at the University of Chicago Tax Conference, Colorado Springs Tax Institute, Bank Administration Tax Institute Tax Conference, Tax Executives Institute, the World Trade Institute, International Fiscal Association and the Chicago Bar Association. He is also a former chair of the Chicago Bar Association's foreign tax committee and former co-chair of the ABA section of taxation's subcommittee on direct investment in the US by foreign persons. Mr Zimbler is a CPA, a fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel and chair of the International Tax Discussion Group in Chicago.

Mr Zimbler received his JD (cum laude) from Harvard Law School in 1975 and his BA (with highest honours, Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of Michigan in 1972. He is admitted in Illinois.
