Biography: Corporate Tax

Gregg D Lemein is a partner in the Chicago office of Baker & McKenzie. He has extensive experience in the development and analysis of inter-company pricing policies, international reorganisations, foreign tax-credit planning, and subpart F planning; and resolution of tax controversies at the audit and appeals levels of the Internal Revenue Service, through bilateral advance pricing agreements and competent authority procedures, and in the US Tax Court and other federal courts. He has handled tax cases involving a wide range of issues, with particular experience in inter-company pricing issues. His controversy work has included tax court trials for Eli Lilly and Company, Coulter Electronics, Laidlaw Transportation and Square D Company.

Mr Lemein has given numerous speeches at the Tax Executives Institute, the University of Chicago, the George Washington University and other tax seminars. He is the author of numerous articles on international tax issues.

Mr Lemein is a graduate of the University of Illinois (BS of Computer Engineering, with high honours), of the Northwestern University School of Law (JD, magna cum laude, order of the coif), the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, and of the Northwestern University (Master of Management, with distinction). He is admitted to practise in Illinois and before the US Tax Court, the US Court of Federal Claims, the US Disᅡᆲtrict Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the US Courts of Appeals for the Third, Seventh, Eighth and Federal Circuits. He has been recognised as a leading US tax lawyer by International Tax Review, Euromoney and Chambers USA.
