Biography: Product Liability

Sherry A Knutson is a partner whose practice focuses on mass tort litigation, including complex litigation, class actions, and national coordination and defense of pharmaceutical product liability cases. She represents manufacturers in multidistrict and related state litigation involving medical devices and prescription drugs, including Baycol, Celebrex/Bextra, Seroquel, and latex glove allergy. Her work in these proceedings involves trial, depositions, expert preparation, court hearings, strategic planning, negotiations with Plaintiffs' Steering Committees, fact investigation, and the drafting of pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and discovery responses. She also has litigation experience in toxic torts, including being part of a trial team that obtained a favourable result in a hydrogen sulfide exposure case.

Ms Knutson received her Juris Doctor degree with high honours from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1996, where she was a notes and comments editor for the Chicago-Kent Law Review. She clerked for the Honorable N Patrick Crooks, Wisconsin Supreme Court, 1996-1997. She is a speaker on topics relating to products liability litigation, including most recently as a panellist on 'Current Issues in Medical Device Litigation' at a seminar sponsored by the ABA Section of Litigation/Product Liability and Mass Tort Litigation Committees. Her most recent publication is as co-author of A corporation's worst nightmare: product liability claims around the world. Ms Knutson is a member of the Defense Research Institute.
