Mr Kunz has acted as counsel in public offerings and private placement transactions involving the issuance of pass-through certificates, asset-backed notes and bonds, preferred stock, commercial paper notes and participation certificates. His structured finance experience includes transactions in which securities have been backed with car loan receivables; auto leases; corporate bonds; trade receivables; small business loans; mortgage loans; partnership notes; real estate; commercial loans; nuclear fuel leases; movie and television syndication receivables; insurance company funding agreements; credit card receivables; dealer floorplan loans; future cash flows; home equity loans; student loans; franchise fee receivables; federal agency securities; real estate leases; natural resources; equipment leases; and swap obligations.
Mr Kunz has worked on a number of innovative transactions in which structured finance techniques were utilised to enable non-traditional financings to access the capital markets. Among such transactions are the timber securitisations for Pacific Lumber Corporation; funding agreement backed securities offerings for John Hancock, New York Life, Principal, Nationwide and Allstate; and the "whole company securitisation" of the telephone leasing business of Lucent upon its acquisition by UBS Principal Finance.
Mr Kunz was selected for inclusion in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business for the years 2004 through 2007.
