Biography: Product Liability

Barbara Wrubel primarily represents defendants in products liability and mass torts litigation, serving as coordinating counsel in large, complex cases. Her clients have included manufacturers of various pharmaceutical, industrial, chemical and consumer products.

Ms Wrubel is currently national coordinating counsel for a major pharmaceutical company's nationwide litigation involving one of its leading prescription medications. She also represents a major consumer products manufacturer and some of the country's largest insurance companies in class action and consumer fraud litigation.

A significant part of Ms Wrubel's practice involves appellate briefing, including two appeals to the United States Supreme Court, and the charting of strategies for clients on significant legal issues, such as punitive damages, class actions, and the standards for liability and scope of defences in cases involving prescription medical products. She has also negotiated and structured a number of nationwide class action settlements.

Ms Wrubel was recently selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America for 2007 for mass tort and personal injury litigation. She has written many articles on toxic torts and products liability and has lectured frequently on these topics. She has also co-chaired seminars sponsored by Law Journal Seminars-Press and the Practising Law Institute and has lectured at programmes offered by the Defense Research Institute and the American Bar Association.
