Biography: Trade & Customs

Adrián Vázquez, born 1966, is a member of Vázquez Tercero.

Adrian advises and represents a number of national and multinational companies, appearing before executive, congressional, judicial and dispute settlement bodies in anti-dumping, subsidy, safeguard, trade agreement, rules of origin, customs, and import and export tariff law matters.

In over 50 trade investigations, Adrian has represented over 100 private companies of all over the world, in all types of industrial and agricultural goods. Among other cases, Adrián represented US interests in high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), beef, pork and table apple cases.

Adrian's legal memorandums for private companies have been used by sovereign governments before the WTO/DSB, such as in the case of HFCS from the US (DS132) and standard pipes from Guatemala (DS331), which ordered Mexico to put its measures into conformity.

Adrian is the author of the book Sistema Antidumping Mexicano; a member of the evaluation committee of the National Export Award; a founding member of the International Trade Practices Advisors Association, co-chair of the anti-dumping committee of the US-Mexico bar association, and chair of the trade commission of the Public Accountants' Mexican Institute, among other titles and positions.

He has written extensively in national and international publications and has been a guest speaker in various countries.

Adrian has been listed as one of Mexico's top trade and customs lawyers in several international publications.

He graduated in law from UNAM (1991). He speaks fluent Spanish and English.
