Rick has lectured and published extensively in the areas of environmental and regulatory law, including authoring the Alberta portion of the textbook Contaminated Property in Canada, (Carswell Thomson Professional Publishing, 1996). His published articles describe practice and procedure before regulatory tribunals such as the National Energy Board, Natural Resources Conservation Board, and the Energy and Utilities Board.
Rick has also advised governments and regulatory boards and industry in respect of offshore energy transportation and development issues in all areas of Canada. Currently, Rick is a director of the Canadian Institute of Resources Law and the Alberta Chamber of Resources.
