Biography: Commercial Litigation
David Hertz has been with Werksmans Attorneys since 1989. He was appointed as a director in 1993 and currently heads the firm's litigation and dispute resolution department.David is experienced in all fields of commercial litigation and has been involved in many high-profile and precedent-setting matters with a focus on contractual disputes and adversarial proceedings arising out of mergers and acquisitions, management buy-outs and take-overs and flotations/listings.
He regularly represents clients involved in complex litigation, particularly matters involving simultaneous civil, criminal and administrative proceedings. David's expertise extends to arbitration, mediation and alternative dispute resolution.
David features prominently as a leading lawyer in numerous independently conducted ratings of the legal profession locally and internationally and has been named as a leading lawyer in litigation by Best Lawyers International; in dispute resolution by Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers for Business; in commercial litigation by Who's Who Legal; in dispute resolution by the Legal500 and in dispute resolution by PLC Which Lawyer.
