Dr Park concentrates his practice in representing Korean and international clients in connection with arbitration proceedings as well as court proceedings in Korean and other jurisdictions. He has extensive experience as counsel representing multinational corporations in international arbitrations in various venues under the rules of the ICC, LCIA, SIAC, UNCITRAL, AAA, Korean Commercial Arbitration Board, Swiss Chambers of Commerce, Stockholm Chamber of Commerce and the Court of Arbitration for Sports. Dr Park previously served as a judge at the Seoul District Court of Korea and has focused on cross-border litigation and international arbitration after joining Kim & Chang.
Dr Park is a graduate of Seoul National University Law School and New York University School of Law (LLM, JSD). He has written various articles on international arbitration and has been a speaker in numerous international conferences on arbitration relating to commercial disputes as well as investment and trade treaties. He is an adjunct professor of law with SKK University Law School and teaches in various law schools in Korea.
Dr Park is currently vice president of Korean Arbitrators Association and an arbitrator with KCAB, SIAC, DIAC, and ACIACA. He is a councillor of the LCIA, and also serves as a member of the ICSID panels of conciliators, the executive committee of the Foundation for International Arbitration Advocacy and the ICC arbitration committee for Korea. He is a member of the Korean and New York bars.
