Biography: Internet & e-Commerce

Lukas Morscher is head of the IT, telecoms and media practice in the Zurich office of Lenz & Staehelin and an expert on corporate and M&A. He advises regularly on international and domestic transactions, and is considered an eminent practitioner in outsourcing, technology and telecom matters in Switzerland. He holds a Masters in Economics (1987), a Masters in Law (1990) and a Doctorate in Law (1992). Admitted to the Bar in 1994, he started practising law in Switzerland and also worked as attorney in a US law firm from 1996 to 1997.

His practice focuses on TMT matters including corporate and M&A transactions in these industries. The expertise of Lukas and his team involves a wide range of transactional and regulatory work in technology, media and telecoms, such as outsourcings, ASP, hosting and online services, e-commerce, broadcasting, convergence issues, ICT contracts, public procurement, software development, licensing and distribution structures, strategic business alliances and joint ventures. Special focus is given to infrastructure outsourcings and BPO transactions also in regulated industries including financial markets and telecommunications, and global outsourcings of network communication and security services, finance and accounting outsourcings as well as other managed services for multinationals.

Lukas Morscher is a member of selected national and international associations of communications and technology law, and author of numerous publications in areas of corporate, M&A and TMT, including outsourcing, ICT contracts, software licensing and telecommunications. He is a frequent lecturer at seminars and conferences, and co-chair of ICT conferences of the University of St Gallen. He speaks German, English and French.
