Biography: Competition

Mr Yun, a founding partner of Yulchon, is managing partner of the firm. Mr Yun also practises primarily in antitrust, corporate, mergers and acquisitions and tax law. Before founding Yulchon, Mr Yun was a public prosecutor with the Pusan District Prosecutor's Office, an associate with the law firms of Lee & Ko and Baker & McKenzie (Chicago and New York), and a partner at Yoon & Partners.

Mr Yun has written many articles for various publications on antitrust, corporate, and tax law, and spoken at many conferences and seminars held by prominent international organisations, including the International Bar Association, American Bar Association, Inter-Pacific Bar Association, International Competition Network (ICN) and Tax Executive Institute. He is a member of the competition policy advisory board for the Korea Fair Trade Commission (KFTC), and a non-governmental adviser to the ICN since its inception in 2002. He also has served as outside legal adviser to the KFTC.

In recent years, Mr Yun was selected for inclusion in Law Business Research's The International Who's Who of Competition Lawyers, Euromoney's Guide to the World's Leading M&A Lawyers, PLC's Cross-Border M&A Handbook and Chambers Global.

Mr Yun has successfully represented numerous major corporations in many important deals and projects, including Goldman Sachs, the Carlyle Group, AMD, RealNetworks, Bridgestone Corporation, Samsung Electronics, SK Telecom, GS-Caltex, Hyundai Motors, Hyundai Capital, Lotte Shopping, and Daum Communications.

He is a graduate of Seoul National University Law School, received his LLM from Harvard Law School and JD from Hastings College of Law.
