Biography: Insurance & Reinsurance

Kenneth R Wylie is a partner in Sidley's Chicago office and concentrates his practice on insurance law with emphasis on insurance regulatory matters that affect insurance companies, agents and brokers, and other insurance entities. Mr Wylie has provided legal and counselling services on corporate, commercial and regulatory matters for insurance industry organisations, including the organisation and acquisition of insurance companies, the evaluation of captives and alternative risk transfer vehicles, and insurance risk securitisations. He has extensive experience representing insurance guaranty funds, insureds, reinsurers, reinsureds, claimants and other parties involved in insurance company insolvencies. Mr Wylie handles reinsurance arbitrations, including disputes involving reinsurance pools and finite reinsurance.

Mr Wylie is a member of the Federation of Regulatory Counsel, AIDA Reinsurance and Insurance Arbitration Society (US), and the Chicago and American Bar Associations, including the respective insurance committees of these two associations. He has been recognised by clients and fellow lawyers as a leading lawyer in the insurance field by Chambers & Partners' America's Leading Business Lawyers (each year since 2003).

Mr Wylie is a frequent speaker on various insurance-related issues, including insurance risk securitisation, reinsurance, insolvency and captives.
