Mr Wong has more than 40 years of legal experience and appears frequently in the superior courts in Malaysia. His area of practice includes litigation and alternative dispute resolution, corporation and partnership, tax, custom duties & excise, land acquisition, insurance and defamation.
He has conducted numerous cases of which over 70 cases have been reported in the Malaysian Law Journal and other law reports. He also acted as one of the counsel in a Constitutional Tribunal specifically set up to inquire into alleged judicial misconduct. He had appeared several times in the Privy Council as a junior counsel, when Malaysia allowed appeals to the Privy Council.
He has contributed two chapters on banking and compulsory acquisition to the Malaysian Court Forms, a Butterworths publication. He has also given lectures and contributed numerous articles on arbitration and various other subjects to legal journals.
Mr Wong acts as arbitrator and as counsel in arbitrations involving shareholders disputes, commercial and construction contracts.
He has been the sole Malaysian member of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce since 2004 and is a fellow of the Malaysia Institute of Taxation. He has been a member of the listing committee of Bursa Malaysia Berhad (Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange) since 2008.
