Biography: Business Crime Defence

John Rusty Wing is a nationally recognised criminal defence lawyer who has been actively involved in criminal trial, pretrial and appellate work for more than 25 years. A former chief of the fraud unit in the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, Mr Wing has represented individuals and corporations in a wide variety of complex criminal matters involving allegations of securities fraud (stock manipulation, false filing, insider trading), environmental violations, RICO, money laundering, tax fraud, bribery (Foreign Corrupt Practices Act), extortion, government contracts fraud, antitrust violations, labour law violations, customs fraud and bank fraud. His clients have included Fortune 500 corporations, law firms, lawyers, business executives, television performers, political figures, law enforcement officials, newspaper reporters, financial firms, accountants, doctors, small business owners and individuals from many other walks of life.

A Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and past president and director of the New York Council of Defense Lawyers, Mr Wing has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America for more than 20 years. In 2004 Mr Wing was the recipient of the Noman S Ostrow Award for excellence in criminal defence. Mr Wing has published and lectured extensively on jury trial work and criminal law topics and has appeared as a television commentator on Fox 5, MSNBC and Court TV concerning major legal issues of the day. He has taught trial advocacy courses at the Harvard Law School, Columbia Law School, Fordham Law School, Cardozo Law School and the New York District Attorneys Trial Advocacy Programme.
