Biography: Real Estate

Sandy Weiner is a partner in the business and international section of Vinson & Elkins and co-head of its real estate practice group. Mr Weiner's principal areas of practice are real estate law and finance law. His experience includes acquisitions, dispositions, leasing and finance of real estate; sale-leasebacks and other leveraged lease transactions; project finance; private placements; equity relationships, mezzanine loans and other hybrid debt-equity transactions; and workouts, restructurings and foreclosures. He also provides advice on usury and choice-of-law issues in commercial financing transactions.

Mr Weiner has been recognised by Chambers USA: America's Leading Business Lawyers in real estate law, 2003-2006; The Best Lawyers in America in real estate law, 2003-2007, in corporate, M&A, and securities law, 2003-2006, in banking law, 2006-2007; Who's Who in American Law; Who's Who in the South and Southwest; Legal Media Group's Guide to the World's Leading Real Estate Lawyers; The International Who's Who in Real Estate Law; 'Texas Super Lawyer' in real estate transaction law, Texas Monthly, 2003-2006; and 'Top 100 Houston Region Super Lawyer' and 'Top 100 Texas Super Lawyer,' Texas Monthly, 2003-2006. Mr Weiner graduated from The University of Texas, BA in 1968, and Harvard University, JD in 1971.
