Biography: Construction

Jack Tieder is a senior partner at Watt, Tieder, Hoffar & Fitzgerald. He concentrates his practice in major construction matters with a particular emphasis on international projects. He is involved in advising clients on a broad range of issues related to the construction of major infrastructure and industrial projects throughout the world. He represents foreign governments, utilities, oil companies and US and international contractors. He assists clients in all phases of construction, from advising on the most effective procurement process to coordinating financing with US and European credit agencies, to resolving complex disputes.

Mr Tieder is recognised for his exceptional negotiating and litigation skills. Chambers USA – America's Leading Lawyers for Business is quoted as saying Mr Tieder is an 'icon in construction litigation, having a wealth of experience trying construction cases and advocating before international arbitration committees. He is a charter member of the American College of Construction Lawyers, and the District of Columbia, New York and Virginia state bars. He also regularly speaks at Construction Litigation SuperConferences and other industry groups. He is the author of numerous articles on construction law and arbitration matters.

Mr Tieder studied at Johns Hopkins University, Syracuse University and American University.
