Biography: Corporate Tax

Guillermo Teijeiro graduated from the University of La Plata (1978) and obtained an LLM degree from Harvard University (1984). Until 1985, Mr Teijeiro was an associate with the Washington, DC tax law firm Caplin & Drysdale, working in the international tax group.

Mr Teijeiro has authored and co-authored tax articles and books published by Legal Times, Law & Business Inc, Tax Planning International, Tax Notes International, Euromoney, The Economist, Practical Latin American Tax Strategies, International Tax Review, Kluwer, Global Legal Group, Marcial Pons, Depalma, La Ley, Astrea, Abaco, and Ediciones Contabilidad Moderna. His book Tax Jurisdiction in the International Context and Local Government's Powers to Tax (Spanish version) was published by Editorial La Ley in October 2002.

He was the speaker on tax matters at the IBA conferences in Buenos Aires and Strasbourg (1988/89), at the UTA Montreal/Quebec conference (1987) and the IFA congresses in Toronto (1994) and Sydney (2003). During 1988, Mr Teijeiro was a visiting scholar at HLS (Harvard Tax Fund/ITP scholarship). He has lectured extensively on corporate and international tax law at the Institute for International Research, Insight Information Co (NY), Buenos Aires based public and private law, economics and business graduate schools, as well as business chambers and professional organisations. Mr Teijeiro teaches International Taxation at the Master in Taxation, UCA, Buenos Aires.

Mr Teijeiro has been Argentine rapporteur for the 1994 and 2007 congresses of the International Fiscal Association. He is a member of IFA permanent scientific committee for the period 2006/2014.

Mr Teijeiro has been a member of the board of the City of Buenos Aires Bar Association, as well as of the board of the Argentine Association of Fiscal Studies (IFA national branch), in three different biannual periods (the last time in 2008/2010).

Mr Teijeiro's practice includes tax planning and review of international and domestic business transactions, general tax advice to businesses and individuals, and federal and local tax litigation.
