He has lectured at a number of universities and is currently a senior fellow at Melbourne University, lecturing in risk allocation for major projects and dispute resolution.
He is the Australian correspondent for the International Construction Law Review, published in London. Examples of contentious matters where he was lead partner include: successfully resisting injunctive proceeding against his client to restrain the call of A$41.15 million bond (1999); international arbitration in relation to a claim pursuant to an extended LDs insurance policy, settled in his client's favour for A$113 million (2000); two arbitrations before international arbitrators, pursuant to which his client established an entitlement to US$320 million (2001 and 2003); the BassGas arbitration where his client successfully defended a A$150 million trade practices claim and established liability in respect of numerous other claims (2006); a material adverse effect arbitration relating to a multi billion dollar project, where the amount in dispute was in excess of A$100 million. His client successfully defended the claim made (2008); Federal Court proceedings relating to a letter of intent. The matter settled during the hearing with Andrew's client recovering US$32.5 million (2010).
