Biography: Mergers and Acquisitions
Carl joined Bowman Gilfillan as a senior partner in 2006, having previously been a partner of Werksmans for over 20 years and executive chairman of that firm. He has long been acknowledged as one of South Africa's leading specialists in mergers and acquisitions, company law, negotiations, stock exchange transactions and trusts. He advises many JSE-listed companies and leading businessmen. He is also a non-executive director of a number of listed companies.Carl has written numerous articles and presented seminars on a number of corporate-related topics over many years. He recently authored a 500-page authoritative textbook on South Africa's new Companies Act, entitled The New Companies Act Unlocked, which was published in September 2011.
