Biography: Product Liability

Paul Stallings focuses his practice exclusively on litigation. He has tried a number of cases involving tort law and commercial litigation. His practice emphasises product liability, hospital liability and legal malpractice cases. He previously served as head of the litigation section at Vinson & Elkins.

Mr Stallings has tried over 150 cases to juries in Harris and surrounding counties in the Texas Gulf Coast area. In addition, he has been involved in the settlement of many cases involving amounts in excess of $1 million. He has served as Texas coordinating counsel on personal injury and products liability cases for a major cigarette manufacturer and a leading pharmaceuticals manufacturer. He is also counsel to Houston's largest not-for-profit teaching hospital.

Mr Stallings has been recognised by The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers in product liability law, 2006; Legal Media Group's Guide to the World's Leading US Litigation Lawyers, 2005; The Best Lawyers in America in legal malpractice law and personal injury litigation; Texas Monthly as a 'Texas Super Lawyer' in civil litigation defence and as one of 'Houston's Top 100 Lawyers', 2003-2005; and H Texas as one of the 'Best Lawyers in Houston', 2004. He received the Anti-Defamation League Jurisprudence Award in 1996.

Mr Stallings graduated from the University of Texas, BA with honours, in 1960 and, following service in the United States Navy, from the University of Texas Law School Law School with honours in 1966. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Chancellors. He joined Vinson & Elkins upon graduation.
