Mr Solish is a board certified franchise law expert with very extensive trial and appellate experience in the field of franchising. Mr Solish has served as editor-in-chief of the Franchise Law Journal. He has attended every ABA Forum on Franchising and IFA Legal Symposium since 1984 and has been a speaker at many of them. Recent successes include a case where franchisees filed suits in New York to challenge Hilton's right to sell a franchise system; a large damages award after the trial of a distribution dispute about Japanese tea; a dispute involving a Miss Universe franchise; a jury trial challenging hotel disability accommodations; dismissal of an antitrust dispute about tyre prices; denial of certification in a rental car system dispute; and an order enforcing trade secret rights in a dispute about pancake recipes.
Matters recently mediated include a California Department of Corporations stop order against a gaming franchise; a class action over cosmetics claims; a race discrimination suit; a class action over weight loss claims; and a suit under Oregon franchise laws.
