Having just completed his term, Rod made legal history when he became the first president of the Canadian Bar Association from northern Canada in the summer of 2010.
Rod is a frequent speaker and writer on aboriginal and mining law matters. He has lectured on aboriginal, mining and environmental law topics to a variety of groups including the Canadian Bar Association (aboriginal section), Continuing Legal Education Society of British Columbia, Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation, Canadian Institute, and the International Bar Association (environmental law committee). He is recognised by the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory, The International Who's Who of Mining Lawyers and Best Lawyers in Canada as a leader in his field.
Prior to joining Davis, Rod was a Smith Shield moot finalist at Dalhousie Law School and performed graduate work in law as a NATO Fellow.
